Kicking off San Diego's first Local Libations Week, this celebration is not only about sharing delicious, handcrafted food with friends, but also about recognizing the people who work so hard to cultivate the incredibly flavorful organic fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood that go into each of our recipes. Some of these dedicated farmers will spend the afternoon with us and give us some insight into the arduous daily operations as the food comes out the BIGA wood fired ovens.

The Good Food Community Fair is Slow Food Urban San Diego's largest annual event, bringing together the people and organizations desiring a Good, Clean & Fair food system. Come engage with us as we enjoy the culinary demos, family-friendly activities, expert panel discussions, garden activities, and of course...food!
This year, we want to bring attention to the consequences of biodiversity and habitat loss due to industrialized agricultural practices and discuss how regenerative agriculture can guide the restoration of our food system and environment.

The Good Food Showcase is an event which brings growers, distributors, good food businesses, and institutional buyers together to celebrate fresh, healthy and local foods. Last year, over 200 attendees participated, including institutional buyers from local school districts, hospitals, early childcare centers, universities and restaurants.

After the great success of our first Sea to Fire Dinner back in April, people have been begging us to put up the ticket site for the next dinner, coming Thursday, September 13. Now that we have confirmed that the amazing Davin Waite from Wrench and the Rodent Restaurant in Oceanside will be the guest chef that evening, sharing the courses with our very own Chef de Cuisine Chris Osborne, the ticket site is live! Yes, we've said this before, but these tickets REALLY won't last long so be sure to get yours!
Benchmark Brewing Company joins Garden Kitchen for the release of their special Farm to Fork San Diego Table Beer brewed with Dickinson Farm Fennel Flowers! All of the night's entrees will be created to showcase Benchmark Beer, we'll have this special Table Beer and River Rye on draft, as well Hop Chunks IIPA, Oatmeal Stout, Blond Ale, Brown Ale & IPA in cans. Some beer inspired food selections will include beer roasted chicken, pork belly porchetta, pita & lentil patty, oatmeal stout cake, and a Brewer's Platter with beer boiled sausage, fried pickles, tempura fennel flower, brown ale mustard & more. Owners Matt & Rachael Akin will be with us for most of the evening. As always there will be gluten free & vegetarian options available. Reservations highly recommended!

Join Farm to Fork San Diego at Bivouac Ciderworks with chef and friend DJ Tangalin for a special "Industry" Mixer. We invite all those in the food industry -growers, ranchers, fishermen, purveyors, servers, bartenders, writers and makers - to join us for locally grown snacks and drink specials. Winemakers start their days during the harvest season tasting through their wines in various stages of development. Join Alysha (Enologist for Vesper and Winemaker for Stehleon) for a special small group tasting and tour of the cellar. During your tasting you will see, smell and taste grapes and juice that have been harvested/pressed in the previous week or two. You will see and taste different stages of fermentation. This special tasting is only offered seasonally. Tours will vary based on what is in the cellar and what is happening that day, so no two tours will be alike. All will be tasty and fun! Tour groups will be limited in size for optimum experience and safety.

We're so lucky to have a fishermen's market! Join us Saturday morning September 8th for a pre Farm to Fork Week tour of the San Diego Tuna Harbor with some of San Diego's best chefs including Chef Rob Ruiz of Land and Water Company in Carlsbad and Chef Juan Carlos Recamier of Ceviche House in Old Town. Taste a few of their creations and walk the market with these encyclopedias of culinary advice on how to buy, cook and serve the freshest fish. Fun for kids too with a touch tank and other fishy activities.
